Sensory and relaxation for school age kids: Mandalas

Mandalas are patterns of concentric circles that grow outwardly and are meant to represent harmony and fullness with the universe and mind. Making mandalas can promote relaxation by calming and focusing attention. Adding sensory elements such as sand, playdough, rice and loose parts from nature increases the tactile experience and engagement for children. There are so many variations to try with a school age group.
