Let Your Hands Do the Talking – Level 1
Many children in child care programs are being taught to use sign language as a way to build their communication skills.
Parents/guardians, educators and providers, come enhance your skills by learning the basics of signed English in this six-week course. Preschool signs and topics covered include: language, routines, food, clothing, songs, stories and more.

Transition to School
This presentation is intended for parents/guardians who have a child with special needs who will be starting school in September 2017. The following topics will be presented during the session:
- Rights and supports that your school must provide to meet the needs of your child;
Review of Identification, Placement and Review Committee (IPRC) & the Individual Education Plan (IEP);
- Strategies to ensure a good transition between the child care program and the school;
- Strategies to facilitate information sharing and effective communication with the school board.

Ottawa-Carleton District School Board & Ottawa Catholic School Board Transition to School Presentation
The Ottawa-Carleton District School Board and the Ottawa Catholic School Board will offer a presentation on the Transition to School intended for parents/guardians who have a child with special needs who will be starting school in September 2017.
