By Jeanie Franz Ransom
A fun retelling of a story many of us are familiar with. Surprises children by reversing the roles and making little wolf the one searching for solutions when he is bullied by Big Red on the way to class. Little wolf goes to his parents and school guidance counsellor for ideas and tries solutions such as telling her to stop and trying to look scary but, in the end, it is ignoring and smiling that does the trick. It also touches on what Big Red, the bully, might be feeling that is causing her to act this way. Notes at the end of the story offer ideas to parents and caregivers who may have a child who is being bullied. Great for children aged 4-9. It was an excellent conversation starter for my 6-year-old son and I.
