The Teacher’s Introduction to Attachment is a great tool for any educator’s ‘toolbox’. It offers a clear description of what trauma can look like, explains how it impacts attachment and reveals some of the common areas that children may find challenging (e.g. feelings of shame, identity, and empathy). The author guides well-meaning educators who face constant barriers when trying to build a positive relationship with a certain child even though their approach has worked well in the past with all other children. This book will give educators who find themselves thinking that a behaviour ‘came out of nowhere’ some ‘aha’ moments. Written in accessible and easy-to-understand language, the author offers tips and strategies to implement with empathy, patience, and a new perspective.
